Leaving and being left behind

Usually its me who leaves', it has always been me moving away..for as far as I can remember. I left my friends in grade school because I'm attending high school somewhere else. Without finishing the term I had to leave that school for another one and ultimately relocated to a new residence. I've left them all entirely, old and new friends together.
After college, I also left home to work in another city I left my family and friends again. I am only able to come home once in a year it was tough.
I have made good friends at work, i warmed to the place because of them. One day I just woke up in another place another set of people to work with and to be friends with. Then again I have to move in just a year, this time I am in Cagayan. It had been a happy place, I have two beautiful and loving friends to argue and cry with, to laugh, sing and dance with. Two years was so short for us and then I have to leave yet again.
In just four years I've lived in 4 different cities, if I was not dedicated to the "rolling stones" I can't imagine to what else was I liked?
I am now in Iloilo-writing about this moment.
I woke up real happy today, a totally different state -as yesterday was a challenge.
Then, I was anxious, my heart felt heavy, my weekend was lonely it all add up to the feeling.
But last night I felt so much better, my day concluded possitively-that was probably it. I slept well and good, I woke up lightly.
I expected a bright welcoming day. The sun was up, the water was just great.
Until I received a message saying, " Hi darling, Im at the airport for Manila-leaving for Dubai this evening."
Exactly the perfect bomb to shatter my day!
Now why should I be so shocked, when I'm so used with separation. I wonder at that myself. I guess I was so used at leaving but have never have been left behind, (that includes boys). I may have mastered the emotional burden of having to move away but I am yet to handle how it is to be left behind. Now I can relate with the saying " Those who go, do not feel the pain of parting. It is they who stay behind that suffer." Now whoever he is must have been hurt real bad, to put into words this painfulness I feel now.
Rona is one of those select few, with whom I can be just myself. She's so dear to me, its shocking to find out she's leaving right away without giving me and all of us -her friends- a clue.
It was such a blow I am utterly unprepared to receive. Not today, that I have just told myself that its happy. I even put my IM status the word "peace" because i cant help but show my contentment it was actually overwhelming. Yes, thats right, "was".
Now i don't feel like it, my eyes are hurt I think. Thats why I may look as if I've cried, not really. I just looked like I did, but not really.
Believe it!
I just hope, you will be careful out there. You are strong and heck you can keep a lifetime of secrets, what can you not manage. Go with God still, he's the only one you have as of this day. Dubai is not some place i can just call a cab for-when you want to see me.
I love you and I do regret I did not come to you when you pleaded this summer. I regret it with all my heart but there is no use going back to it now. I've learned my lesson, i just hope my instincts would work the sharper next time.
I have missed you and I shall be missing you.
Please take care and save your money, we have to take care of ourselves in the future.

Mission: SLEEP

Go to sleep, but WHERE is SLEEP?
Approximately one year since I find it hard to sleep when i get any amount of caffeine from coffee and soda. And it's terrible especially when its a workday the following morning. No amount of tossing and turning and counting sheep (zebra's and ants-for that matter) and reading will make me doze off!
Here are some tips I found in the wwweb but I assure you, this has been effective ONLY when the cause of sleep difficulty is jet lag and disruption of body clock, NOT of caffeine intake. When it is, I guess you just have to dream dreams with eyes wide open and endure the looooong night till you urinate all signs of caffeine from the body!

Sleep Hygiene
(http://www.stanford.edu/~dement/howto.html)

  • Sleep only when sleepy
This reduces the time you are awake in bed.

  • If you can't fall asleep within 20 minutes, get up and do something boring until you feel sleepy
Sit quietly in the dark or read the warranty on your refrigerator. Don't expose yourself to bright light while you are up. The light gives cues to your brain that it is time to wake up.

  • Don't take naps
This will ensure you are tired at bedtime. If you just can't make it through the day without a nap, sleep less than one hour, before 3 pm.

  • Get up and go to bed the same time every day
Even on weekends! When your sleep cycle has a regular rhythm, you will feel better.
  • Keep the room dark.

Exposure to light during the time you're supposed to be sleeping can disrupt your body's internal cycles. This has been documented in studies surrounding circadian rhythms.[3] Turn your light off, or use a very dim night light. Pull curtains across, blinds down or shut the shutters, to prevent outdoor lights from shining on you. If you wake up and see any kind of bright light, you'll have a much harder time falling back asleep. Try to eliminate all sources of light, including from windows, LED clocks and cable boxes, by covering them with heavy paper or cloth covers, or blue tack.

  • Change your sleeping position.
You may think that it's impossible to control what position you sleep in since you aren't fully aware of what you are doing, but it is possible and it can make a considerable difference. When you go to sleep, or if you wake up in the middle of the night, make a conscious effort to follow these guidelines until it becomes habitual:

    • Keep your body in a "mid-line" position, where both your head and neck are kept roughly straight. Don't use a flat pillow that causes your head to tilt down toward the mattress. Likewise, don't stack your pillows so that your head is propped at an angle.

      Image:Midline_570.jpg Image:Midline2_9.jpg
    • Place a pillow between your legs if you sleep on your side. This will support your hips and make this position more comfortable—plus, it feels good!
    • Place a pillow under your legs, if you sleep on your back, to take stress off your lower back.
    • Avoid sleeping on your stomach. It's difficult to maintain the mid-line position, and it is more likely to cause aches and pains. If you must, bend one arm upwards and place it under your pillow. This will help alleviate stress on your back and neck by slightly propping up your body on one side.
      • Maintain your mattress.
Turn the mattress over every few months. Replace it after 5-7 years of regular use. If you feel springs or ridges beneath the surface when you're lying on the bed, or you and your partner roll to the middle of the bed unintentionally, it's time to go mattress shopping. You may also find that the mattress is to blame if you find yourself sleeping better in another bed.

  • Refrain from exercise at least 4 hours before bedtime
Regular exercise is recommended to help you sleep well, but the timing of the workout is important. Exercising in the morning or early afternoon will not interfere with sleep.

  • Develop sleep rituals
It is important to give your body cues that it is time to slow down and sleep. Listen to relaxing music, read something soothing for 15 minutes, have a cup of caffeine free tea, do relaxation exercises.

  • Only use your bed for sleeping
Refrain from using your bed to watch TV, pay bills, do work or reading. So when you go to bed your body knows it is time to sleep.

  • Stay away from caffeine, nicotine and alcohol at least 4-6 hours before bed
Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants that interfere with your ability to fall asleep. Coffee, tea, cola, cocoa, chocolate and some prescription and non-prescription drugs contain caffeine. Cigarettes and some drugs contain nicotine. Alcohol may seem to help you sleep in the beginning as it slows brain activity, but you will end end up having fragmented sleep.

  • Have a light snack before bed
If your stomach is too empty, that can interfere with sleep. However, if you eat a heavy meal before bedtime, that can interfere as well. Dairy products and turkey contain tryptophan, which acts as a natural sleep inducer. Tryptophan is probably why a warm glass of milk is sometimes recommended.

  • Take a hot bath 90 minutes before bedtime

A hot bath will raise your body temperature, but it is the drop in body temperature that may leave you feeling sleepy. Read about the study done on body temperature below.

Trouble Sleeping? Chill Out! - A press release from the journal Sleep about the significance in body temperature before sleep

  • Don’t watch TV or even so much as look at a computer screen atleast 30 minutes before you lie down.

The light from both a television as well as a computer monitor mimic the same intensity of light as sunlight. This fools your body and brain into thinking it’s nowhere near time for sleep.

  • Meditate.
No, don’t cross your legs and hum, but focus on relaxing…if that makes sense. Take deep, long breaths. Tense each muscle one at a time from head to toe. Focusing on doing this takes your mind off of other things and you’ll be in lala land in no time.

  • Make sure your bed and bedroom are quiet and comfortable
A hot room can be uncomfortable. A cooler room along with enough blankets to stay warm is recommended. If light in the early morning bothers you, get a blackout shade or wear a slumber mask. If noise bothers you, wear earplugs or get a "white noise" machine.

  • Use sunlight to set your biological clock

As soon as you get up in the morning, go outside and turn your face to the sun for 15 minutes.

Hope this helps!

College Memoirs

BOND BOOKS

007 Series, Book Versions ( wikipedia)

In February 1952, Ian Fleming began writing his first James Bond novel. At the time, Fleming was the foreign manager for Kemsley Newspapers, owners of
The Daily Express in London. Upon accepting the job, Fleming asked for two months yearly vacation in his contract—time spent writing in Jamaica. Between 1953 and his death in 1964, Fleming published twelve novels and one short-story collection (a second collection was published posthumously). Later, continuation novels were written by Kingsley Amis (as Robert Markham), John Gardner, Charlie Higson and Raymond Benson, who was the first American author of James Bond, last published in 2002. The Young Bond series of novels was begun in 2005, by Charlie Higson.[12][13]

SONG STORIES: LOST by MB

Photo with Emily Blunt(Devil wears Prada)

Michael Bublé was engaged to long-time girlfriend Debbie Timuss, a stage actress, dancer, and singer. Both were in the musicals Red Rock Diner in 1996[3] and Dean Regan's Forever Swing in 1998.[4][5] Timuss was listed as one of the dedicatees in Bublé's self-titled album Michael Bublé and It's Time, and as background vocalist on It's Time. While away in Italy, Bublé co-wrote the hit single "Home" for Timuss.[6][7] Timuss was also featured in his music video for "Home" [8]. Their engagement ended in November 2005. Bublé co-wrote the hit original song "Lost" inspired by their breakup.[9] During an appearance at Australian television's Logie Awards in 2005, he met British actress, Emily Blunt backstage. He thought she was a BBC television producer. [6] They are now dating. Bublé has, during an interview with Australia's channel 10, jokingly expressed his concern for her fast becoming more famous than himself. She also provided background vocals on the cover of "Me and Mrs. Jones" on the album Call Me Irresponsible. The hit original song "Everything" was penned by Bublé for Blunt.[10]

UNfortunately I could't find a picture of the long time girlfriend Debbie Timuss. Not that I did not try hard, the internet is short of any help.

Bublé is a huge fan of the Vancouver Canucks. He has even arranged concert dates to avoid performing on the days of Canucks games.

Photo with nephew.

Here's the Lyrics the after-break-up song..

Lost

I can't believe it's over
I watched the whole thing fall
And I never saw the writing that was on the wall
If I'd only knew
The days were slipping past
That the good things never last
That you were crying

Summer turned to winter
And the snow it turned to rain
And the rain turned into tears upon your face
I hardly recognized the girl you are today
And god I hope it's not too late
It's not too late
'Cause you are not alone
I'm always there with you
And we'll get lost together
Till the light comes pouring through
'Cause when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When your worlds crashing down
And you can't bear the thought
I said, babe, you're not lost

Life can show no mercy
It can tear your soul apart
It can make you feel like you've gone crazy
But you're not
Things have seem to changed
There's one thing that's still the same
In my heart you have remained
And we can fly fly fly away

'Cause you are not alone
And I am there with you
And we'll get lost together
Till the light comes pouring through
'Cause when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost
When the worlds crashing down
And you can not bear the cross
I said, baby, you're not lost

Romancing 007

The MEN behind IAN FLEMING's JAMES BOND 007HEIGHT CHART: IAN FLEMING'S BOND is about 6'0 foot tall. They all are at least faithful to the book, if nothing else. If you read the books, be warned that you will be disappointed to expect that the story is anywhere near.

SEAN CONNERY (1st BOND-7 movies)
( Dr. No-1962,Goldfinger-1964, From Russia with Love-1964,
Thunderball 1965, You only live twice 1967, Diamonds are forever-1971,
Never say never again-1983)
Connery skyrocketed to international fame as the suave, confident (and many say definitive)
Secret Agent 007 in six of Ian Fleming's Bond movies over the next decade, 1962 to 1971)
He came back as a more mature bond in 1983, "Never say never again-1983" in between the time of Moore's Octopussy 1983.

TRIVIA: Never Say Never Again, released in 1983, is the unofficial remake of the 1965James Bond film Thunderball. It starred Sean Connery as the famous British Secret Service agent (as did Thunderball), and was released theatrically by Warner Bros.

The film is considered an "unofficial"[1] James Bond film because it is not part of the Bond film franchise produced by EON Productions and United Artists, even though it is currently owned by United Artists parent MGM.[2] MGM acquired the distribution rights in 1997 after their acquisition of Orion Pictures. The film also marks the culmination of a long legal battle between United Artists and Kevin McClory.

Originally, the film was scheduled for release in direct competition against the official, EON Productions Bond film, Octopussy starring Roger Moore, which led to the media dubbing the situation "The Battle of the Bonds". Ultimately, the two films were released at different times in 1983, and both were box office successes — although Octopussy ended up making more money than Never Say Never Again.

GEORGE ROBERT LAZENBY(2nd Bond-1 movie)
(On her Majesty's secret service 1967)

George Robert Lazenby was born on September 5, 1939 in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Australia. After serving in the Australian Army, he turned to selling cars for a living, before cashing in on his matinee-idol looks to become a top male model in London, where he had arrived in 1964 (the very same year that 11-year old Pierce Brosnan also arrived there and that Ian Fleming died, coincidentally).
The search for a new actor to portray James Bond had begun in 1968, after Sean Connery had announced he was finished with the role. Lazenby won the role of Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service despite having no prior acting experience. There was apparently much conflict on the set of that film, with Lazenby having strained relationships with director Peter Hunt and Bond Girl and former Avengers star Diana Rigg, as well as the producers. Today he admits he took bad advice, when he announced that he would not be doing any more Bond films. Connery was lured back for the next Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever, and Lazenby's acting career floundered. Ironically, Lazenby's Bond film is considered by many fans to be one of the best in the series.

ROGER MOORE (3rd Bond-7 movies) (Live and Let Die 1973, The Man with the Golden Gun 1974, The Spy who Loved Me 1977, MoonRaker 1979, For your eyes only 1981, Octopussy 1983, A view to a kill 1985)

Moore came to the U.S. in 1953, where he got a film contract with MGM, playing supporting roles in several films. His first big TV series was Ivanhoe, followed by Maverick. But it was his role as suave and debonair Simon Templar in the TV series The Saint that catapulted him to stardom. His contract with that show prevented him from being chosen for to play James Bond in 1962. But the Bond role returned to Moore in 1972, when Sean Connery again said for a second time that he was finished as Bond, and Moore was hired as his successor for Live and Let Die.

It has been said that Moore is closer to Ian Fleming's original concept of Bond, as a disenfranchised member of the British Establishment, than Connery's more rough-and-tumble Bond. Indeed, the tone of the series changed under Moore's aegis, with the scripts being tailored to his personality and acting ability; retiring as 007 after A View to a Kill in 1985. He was succeeded by Timothy Dalton the following year.TIMOTHY DALTON (4th Bond-2 movies)

He won the part of 007 in August 1986 when Pierce Brosnan was unable to get out of his television contract at the last minute. Dalton portrayed Bond twice, in The Living Daylights-1987 and Licence to Kill-1989 . His portrayal of Bond signaled a return to a grittier, more realistic characterization, away from what Bond had evolved into during the Moore era.

Litigation between MGM and EON delayed the production of a new Bond film for several years after LTK. Meanwhile, rumors continually abounded that Dalton would be replaced. In April 1994 Dalton officially resigned the role, which then went to Brosnan.
Brosnan was first offered the role in 1986 but was forced to decline because of contract obligations to television series Remington Steele. Timothy Dalton won the role instead but only made 2 films.

PIERCE BROSNAN (5th Bond-4 movies)
(Golden eye-1995, Tomorrow Never Die's-1997,
The World is not Enough-1999, Die Another Day-2002)

It was during this period in the mid-Seventies that Pierce met Cassandra Harris, the woman who was to become his first wife. Wandering into the kitchen in her home, he wa caught eating chicken Cassie had planned to feed her two children, Charlotte and Christopher, the next day. The Australian model and actress delivered a sharp dressing down, along with a hefty dose of sexual chemistry. The two were married in a registry office ceremony in 1980 and son Sean was born three years later.

It was Cassie, who had had some success as an actress, even appearing as a Bond Girl in For Your Eyes Only, who persuaded Pierce he would be a hit in Hollywood. So in 1981 they sweet-talked their bank manager into giving them a home improvement loan which they spent on cheap airline tickets to LA. Two weeks later the chisel-jawed actor landed the role of suave private detective in Remington Steele, a prime-time NBC show which was to embed him in the consciousness of US TV audiences.

Pierce came to the attention of Cubby Broccoli who was eyeing him as a replacement for Roger Moore's 007. But not even Bond could have got out of the Remington Steele contract, and the role eventually went to Timothy Dalton. Although disappointed to have missed out on the role of a lifetime, Pierce was not unduly bothered – he was sure there would be other opportunities.

But in 1987, tragedy struck. Cassie, who had been complaining of fatigue and a swollen stomach, was diagnosed as suffering from ovarian cancer. When she died in his arms four years later, Pierce was devastated. "Cassie has made me the man that I am, the actor I am, the father I am. She's forever embedded in every fibre of my being," he told HELLO! in 1992. "She's there with me every day. I was so blessed to have met someone like that."

Lesser men might have cracked under the strain of bringing up three children – when Charlotte and Christopher's father died in 1986, they were adopted by their stepfather – combined with a burgeoning acting career, but Pierce soldiered on. Parts in Lawnmower Man and Mrs Doubtfire helped his Tinseltown profile inch upwards, but it wasn't until he landed the Bond contract in 1994 that he became a household name.

His interpretation of 007 in GoldenEye breathed new life into the James Bond oeuvre and the role obviously fitted like a glove. His personal life also took a turn for the better when he met Keely Shaye Smith, an environmental journalist, in Mexico. "I found a great woman in Keely," he recalled. "Not if I searched a million times over would I find one as good."

Their first child, Dylan Thomas Brosnan was born in 1997, and Paris Beckett followed four years later. Pierce and Keely tied the knot six months after Paris's arrival, in a fairytale wedding in Ireland. The family now live in a sprawling house on Malibu Beach.

DANIEL CRAIG (6th BOND-1 movie and counting)
Former JAMES BOND star ROGER MOORE insists it doesn't take a "good actor" to play the world's most famous secret agent. Moore - who played the suave superspy in the early 1980s - insists criticism of the decision to cast DANIEL CRAIG as 007 was harsh, because the role doesn't require much talent.

He says, "I am a great defender of Daniel Craig. He's a good actor. People have been so beastly, he's not even had a chance. "Not that you have to be a good actor... you just have to be able to say, 'My name's Bond, James Bond'

But despite offering his support to Craig, the 79-year-old actor isn't looking forward to Casino Royale's cinema release later this month (17NOV06). He says, "The other thing that happens when a new Bond film opens is that I get bad reviews.
"The critics say, 'Thank God, he - whoever he is - wasn't like Roger Moore'."
Casino Royal earned 13 million. More than any other Bond Film.

UPCOMING! QUANTUM OF SOLACE
Showing on November 2008
According to producer Michael G. Wilson, the film will not be utilizing any part of the original Ian Fleming short story "Quantum of Solace" except its title. Apart from James Bond, none of the characters from the short story (Rhoda Llewellyn , Philip Masters and the Governor) are intended for use as character names in the movie.First James Bond movie to take its title from an original Ian Fleming short story since The Living Daylights (1987), a gap of twenty-one years. The Ian Fleming James Bond short story "Quantum of Solace" was an attempt by Fleming to write a more literature serious story somewhat in the vein of W. Somerset Maugham. As such, it is in keeping with the more serious tone and dimension of the EON Production James Bond series which was initiated with Casino Royale (2006).
  • The meaning of the film's title "Quantum of Solace" is a small degree of comfort that can exist between two people emotionally in a relationship. According to Ben Macintyre of Times Online, the Governor character in the Ian Fleming short story of the same name defines it as "... a precise figure defining the comfort, humanity and fellow feeling required between two people for love to survive. If the quantum of solace is nil, then love is dead."

Warrior of Light- Paulo Coelho

Hitler may have lost the war on the battle field, but he ended up winning something," says M. Halter. "Because in the 20th century, men created the concentration camp, resuscitated torture, and taught their fellow men that it is possible to close one’s eyes to the misfortunes of others."

Perhaps he is right: there are abandoned children, massacred civilians, innocent people in jail, lonely old people, drunkards in the gutter, crazy men wielding power.

But then perhaps he is quite wrong: the Warriors of Light exist, and they never accept what is unacceptable.

The most important words in any language are small words. "Yes," for example. Love. God. These are words that are easy to utter, and they fill in empty spaces in our world.

However, there is one word – also a small one – that we find difficult to say: “No”.

And we see ourselves as generous, understanding, and polite. Because "no" is considered to be cursed, egoistic, not at all spiritual.

We have to be careful here. There are moments when we say "yes" to others and in fact are saying "no" to ourselves.

All the great men and women in the world have been people who, rather than say "yes", said a very big NO to everything that did not fit their ideal of bounty and growth.

Warriors of Light recognize one another just by looking. They are in the world, they are part of the world, and they were sent to the world without provisions or sandals. Often they are cowards. They do not always act properly.

Warriors of Light suffer for trivial things, worry about petty matters, and feel incapable of growing. Occasionally Warriors of Light feel they are unfit for any blessing or miracle.

Warriors of Light frequently ask what they are doing here. Many times they feel that their life has no meaning.

That is why they are Warriors of Light. Because they make mistakes. Because they ask. Because they continue to look for a meaning. But above all because they have the capacity to say “no” when they are faced with things they cannot accept.

We may often be called intolerant, but it is important to open up and fight against everything and all circumstances if we see injustice or cruelty. No-one can admit that, after all is said and done, Hitler set a pattern that can be repeated because people are incapable of protesting. And to reinforce this fight, let us not forget the words of John Bunyan, author of the classic “Pilgrim’s Progress”:

“For all that I have suffered, I do not regret the problems that I have faced – because they are what brought me to where I wanted to arrive. Now that I am close to death, all that I have is this sword, and I hand it over to whoever wants to follow their pilgrimage.

“I carry with me all the marks and scars of the combats – they are the witnesses of what I have lived through, and the rewards for what I have conquered. It is these cherished marks and scars that will open for me the gates of Heaven.

“There was a time when I was always hearing stories of bravery. There was a time when I lived only because I needed to live. But now I live because I am a warrior, and because one day I want to be in the company of Him in whose name I have fought so hard.”

So scars are necessary when we fight against Absolute Evil, or when we have to say “no” to all those who, sometimes with the best of intentions, try to impede our journey towards dreams.

This Too Shall Pass

If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be-

If I can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me-

If I can but keep on believing
What I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too-

Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all of the chains

That are binding me tight in the darkness
And trying to fill me with fear-
For there is no night without dawning
And I know that my morning is near.
